Vestry House Museum

Development planning

AZ Urban Studio, working as a sub-consultant to Studio Weave, has secured planning permission and listed building consent for changes to Vestry House Museum, including a substantial extension to the rear and roof, internal alterations and the introduction of complementary uses, including a new cafe and co-working space.

The development will enhance the existing use by increasing accessibility, whilst protecting the museums future by generating additional revenue.

AZ Urban Studio advised on overarching planning strategy and acted as agent for the applications. As part of these roles, AZ Urban Studio prepared planning material, including the planning statement. We assisted with public engagement and led negotiations with the Local Planning Authority.

The project builds on our experience managing complex planning applications for public sector clients and in the Hospitality, leisure, education, and culture sectors.

The Architects Journal have written an article about the project, which can be read here.
