As part of a multidisciplinary team AZ Urban Studio assisted in the preparation of a regeneration strategy for Sherwood, a large neighbourhood of 1950s housing to the east of Tunbridge Wells consisting of more than 1,000 homes. The commission was undertaken for Town and Country Housing Group,
a major Registered Social Landlord, working in partnership with Tunbridge Wells Borough Council. The strategy set out a range of major re-development and infill development opportunities alongside public realm and transport improvements. AZ provided property and planning advice throughout the evolution of the strategy.

AZ Urban Studio prepared a strategic delivery strategy and economic appraisal that examined phasing of construction and potential land disposal, and cross-funding opportunities for estate improvements from specific developments
or land disposal. In addition we proposed a strategic area based affordable housing strategy which examined; quantum, location and timing of affordable housing provision.

The series of interventions identified will ensure that comprehensive regeneration and positive change can be delivered in a piece-meal and
phased approach.
