Development planning

AZ Urban Studio, in collaboration with GRJ Architects and Donald Insall Associates, successfully obtained planning permission and listed building consent for the extensive renovation and construction of a large extension for a Grade II listed terrace house situated within the Bloomsbury Conservation Area.

The proposed works build on an earlier permission for change of use but include the construction of a new extension to the rear of the home and changes to fenestration. The substantial internal alterations include the relocation of the kitchen to the ground floor and changes to the plan arrangement.

AZ Urban Studio advised on the most suitable strategy to secure a comprehensive development consistent with the earlier permission that had been implemented. We acted as planning agents and undertook all negotiations with the Local Planning Authority.

The approved scheme will secure the future conservation of this important heritage asset.
