AZ Urban Studio has secured listed building consent and advertisement consent for a large painted sign at the recently completed Hult International Business School (HIBS) in Whitechapel.

Our planning and heritage team successfully demonstrated to the Council that the lettered signage, added to the street facade of the Grade II listed former brewery building, sat squarely in the tradition of large painted signage upon such industrial buildings and would not harm the special architectural and historic interest of the building.

Our clients wasted no time in commissioning a specialist signwriter to carry out the work, which looks fantastic and gives the building a renewed sense of presence upon Commercial Road.

AZ Urban Studio previously advised HIBS on planning and heritage matters associated with major internal works to the building, working alongside Sergison Bates architects.
