AZ Urban Studio secured planning permission at appeal for a contemporary glazed extension to a five-storey residential property within the Maida Vale Conservation Area.
The scheme was refused at Planning Committee for reasons concerning design and impact upon neighbouring properties, at which point the architect asked AZ Urban Studio to advise upon the prospect of an appeal. Our team considered there to be a strong case for an appeal, and following appointment led on all planning aspects of the appeal, including the preparation of a Statement of Case in support of the proposal, and managing the submission and servicing of the appeal. We were delighted that the Inspector agreed with our assessment of the case, and allowed the appeal.
The approved extension will provide a new living room at lower ground floor level, with a dining room at upper ground floor level, allowing the remainder of the property to be reconfigured internally. We look forward to seeing the development completed.
