Development planning

Following careful and pragmatic negotiations with the London Borough of Islington, AZ Urban Studio has secured planning permission at planning committee for the demolition of a dilapidated locally listed building and redevelopment to provide seven residential dwellings.

AZ Urban Studio led the preparation, submission, and negotiations with the LPA during both pre-application engagement and full planning application, successfully balancing the various planning objectives, including heritage, optimising of the site, and housing delivery.

AZ Urban Studio acted as agent, managed all specialist sub-consultants, and prepared the planning statement. CZWG, who led on all design issues, has conceived a development which optimises the development volume while minimising the impact on the neighbouring properties, together with providing a design that acts as a transition between the two very different contexts found on either side of the site.
