Development planning
Planning permission has been secured (subject to a legal agreement) to build nine flats on a backland site in Hendon. The development optimises this small site in accordance with London Plan objectives.
AZ Urban Studio advised the client on planning consideration prior to purchase and led the planning application during extensive negotiations with the Local Planning Authority.
The site benefited from an extant permission for seven flats. An objective of increasing density and optimising the site meant that crucial planning considerations included: design, housing standards, protecting the amenity of adjoining occupiers and respecting the existing character of this relatively suburban location. This project is an excellent example of how we can assist clients in maximising value on complex sites.
