Development planning

Our planning team has successfully advised the Seventh Day Adventist Church on planning and heritage matters associated with major alterations and extensions to the locally listed Church at 381 Holloway Road, Islington.

Working alongside Jane Duncan Architects, AZ Urban Studio advised upon the full range of planning and heritage issues engaged by the internal and external works. The works comprised internal reconfiguration, including subterranean development to allow insertion of the new lower ground floor and upper ground floor, a second-floor extension behind existing façade, and demolition of the single storey pre-fabricated building to rear and replacement with a larger rear extension to the main building.

The proposal will provide a significant increase in floor space to help meet the identified needs of the growing congregation, together with enhanced services to allow the building to perform a range of functions for the wider community.
